poll: Should Chafee Fire the Entire EDC Board?
Friday, May 25, 2012
Rhode Island invested more than $50 million dollars into former Boston Red Sox star Curt Schilling's gaming company, 38 Studios. The funding plan was developed by then-Governor Don Carcieri and his RIEDC leader Keith Stokes, the legislation to create the funding source was pushed through the General Assembly by the House Leadership, and the RIEDC Board approved the entire plan. All accomplished in record time.
38 Studios moved into their Empire Street headquarters last April of 2011 and just a little over a year later the company is all but gone - and so is the money.
Should Governor Chafee fire the RIEDC board - your turn.
