NEW: Utilidata Appoints Mohammed Zaidi to Board of Directors

Former Alcoa EVP and CTO Mohammed Zaidi joins Utilidata's Board, adding deep experience in technology development.

Utilidata, Inc. announced that it has appointed Mohammed Zaidi to its Board of Directors.  Zaidi is the former Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer of Alcoa. He adds deep experience in technology development to the Utilidata board.

Zaidi: "World-class leadership"

Scott DePasquale, Utilidata’s Executive Chairman and a Partner at Braemar Energy Ventures, said: “The appointment of Mr. Zaidi to the Utilidata board provides world-class leadership in the global energy sector along with proven results in technology development.”

As a member of Alcoa’s Executive Council, Zaidi led developments and growth in the core primary aluminum production as well as in Alcoa’s end markets such as aerospace, automotive, packaging, buildings, energy, consumer electronics and defense. He was also responsible for market strategy and corporate quality functions.

Zaidi, who recently retired from Alcoa after 27 years, spent nearly two-thirds of his career focused on technology management and the remainder on global manufacturing and business management.

As a member on The World Business Council for Sustainable Development, Zaidi co-chaired the Vision 2050 project in collaboration with 29 leading worldwide companies.

A native of India, Zaidi graduated with a metallurgical engineering degree from IIT in Kanpur, India. He obtained a master’s degree in materials technology and a Ph.D. in mechanical metallurgy from Imperial College in London.
