15 RI Companies Get $4.8M in Biotech Grants

Fifteen Rhode Island bioscience companies have received $4.8 million in federal funds and credits, the Tech Collective announced yesterday.
The money, provided through the Affordable Care Act, will fund 23 research projects. The goal of the projects is to develop innovative and affordable new therapies.
Overall $1 billion in federal funds were distributed to nearly 3,000 small biotech companies across the country. The Secretary of the Treasury, Secretary of Health and Human Services, the National Institutes of Health announced the funds yesterday.
