He was the lead hair stylist on Sex and the City 2, he made Anne Hathaway fabulous on film, and now he's GoLocalProv's weekly style expert. Frank Barbosa, the Newport-based celebrity stylist, brings red carpet perspective to hair, makeup, and overall style.
Happy January all you fashionistas!
We are very excited about our up and coming StyleWeek here in Rhode Island, so I thought I would run a couple style trends and tips your way for hitting the shows.

For all who are attending next week's festivities or participating in any way (parties!), think smart fashion: clean, power-house hair. Low chinions, twist low bun, and stick in a chopstick or pencil. Or, just wear it clean and you will be taken seriously.
2. Low pony
Low ponys work at fashion events. Just get bling-y with it: little barets or hair pins with crystals scream winter fashion.
3. Flat iron straight
Another cool option: flat iron straight with a dramatic eye or lip (but not both this season!). Slip into your knee-high boot and you'll be wowing them off the runway.
Have fun at all these events, and even if you're not attending (there's always GoLocalProv coverage!), you'll look like you are with these three tips.
From Sex and the City 2 to Rachel Getting Married, from The Sorcerer's Apprentice to Bride Wars, Frank Barbosa has styled some of the biggest celebrities in film, TV, and theater. He's been in the industry for 17 years, moving from hip neighborhoods in Chicago, to Boston's Newbury St, to Bellevue Avenue in Newport. He maintains that his real passion, though, is being behind a salon chair.
