Speak the right language with your stylist to ensure they take you seriously... even if it's just for a trim.
'Tis the season to cut your hair... and don't be afraid to make it count! Don't be afraid of the word; even if you trim your hair, your stylist is picking up his or her shears and you will be charged for a cut. It's so funny when someone comes into salon and says,"All I want is a trim, not a whole cut," and they ask how much. At that point, the stylist thinks "cheap... no tip here!" and she can be done in 15 minutes. So don't let this happen to you! Use this lingo when visiting a salon and thinking about cutting your hair--sound like that desireable client who will leave with a great do.
1. State that you want to keep your length, but change the shape. This is a great way to get your point across.
2. Ask the stylist what they recomend in a cut. Then reach a happy medium with him or her.
3. Say that your length represents you and who you are. This really puts the point across not to mess with the your length, but encourages the stylist to seek other techniques that will change up a look on long hair. If he or she proposes something you're not sure about say you will think about it and get a second opinion. No feelings should be hurt this way.
