Attention Project Runway lovers. With Season Nine premiering last night on Lifetime Network, the brutal twists and turns have already sacked four designers, one of whom will be in Providence on September 3 to share the tale.

David Chum, the 29-year-old Boston-based designer and fan favorite who had drawn early attention leading into the season opener, will be at StyleWeek Providence on September 3, showing his newest Selahdor collection, and meeting and greeting fans.

Chum will join other Runway alums, including Peace Carr and April Johnston, not to mention well-known local design star Jonathan Joseph Peters, at the week-long fashion event begun in Providence that kicks off August 28th.

Fans were already suspicious earlier this month when Lifetime Network released the names of 20 designers who were slated to appear on last night's show. Insiders know that the Runway usually opens with 16 designers.

But the geniuses behind one of reality TV's best-loved series had a shocker in mind. After a short interview period on the show, four designers were cut before they ever even heard Heidi Klum deliver their challenge, or felt Tim Gunn encourage them to "Make it work."

Chum, now allowed to release the news of his untimely reality TV demise, Tweeted it out last night at midnight.  "So glad that's over!" he said. "Moving on!"
